The coat of arms of the Blackheads, Riga, Latvia. The Brotherhood of Blackheads represented an association of local merchants and foreigners initially created to defend cities from enemies. This organization was active in Livonia (present day Latvia and Estonia) from the 14th century until WW2. The patron saint of the brotherhood was the black Christian Warrior Saint Maurice whose head is depicted on coat of arms of this association.
