The bronze statue of Grand Master de Vilhena, Floriana, Malta. This statue was cast in the foundry of the Order of St John and was installed in Fort Manoel in 1736; later it was relocated a few times before being placed in its present location in Floriana. You can see the similarity between the Grand Master statue pose and the Russian emperor portrait pose (the photo of the portrait I posted previously) - a gesture of the elbow out-thrust, which simbolised in the 18th century the God-given right of the noble-born to elbow their way through a crowd of the common people.
