The stained-glass window in the Chapel of the former Lady of Pena Convent in the National Palace of Pena, Sintra, Portugal. The window was commissioned by King Ferdinand in 1840. As a result of his intervening in a design process of the chapel on a matter of symbolism (a popular 19th-century art movement), the symbols related to the Knightly Orders were depicted in the window: the Cross of the Order of Christ, Our Lady of Pena or the Virgin Mary and St George
